Summary
The Trump administration has imposed a base tariff of 10% on all trading partners, including Australia, but in an unexpected escalation of his trade war he’s singled out so-called worst offenders for ‘reciprocal tariffs’.
China has been slapped with an extra 34% tariff on its goods, that’s in addition to last months 20%, Japan, 24% and Cambodia a whooping 39%.
